MTG Custom Blue-White Deck Box by ZarineBashire MTG Custom Blue-White Deck Box by ZarineBashire
Here is a custom leather deck box I made myself. This was my first real attempt at leatherworking so it could be better. Overall I'm happy with the attempt.

I used various leather crafting tools to create the raised and backgrounded images on the leather. I painted the symbols with Daler and Rowney Pearlescent Acrylic Inks. The whole thing is sealed with some leather sealant.

I saw some of the faux leather deck boxes on ebay and thought I could make my own version. The symbols are the standard MTG symbols so I didn't have to freehand those.

thicker leather will make for a better tooling impression, so would deeper cuts if you use a swivel knife. if not its a wonderful leather crafting tool and not that hard to learn how to use

interesting. if i could give a suggestion, i've been making them for a while now, try a tiny bit thicker leather with smaller holes and stitching :) if you view my etsy shop MooHideArtist and my page here on DA you can see mine.

Gonna sound super dumb but oh well: what is a deck box?

Anyway, for your first attempt I think this is perfect! Leather is really hard to work with (so I've heard anyway - I've never tried!); I love the images you've used, and I love stitching like this XD

it's a box made to hold a deck of cards for a trading card game. This one in particular holds a deck for Magic the Gathering.

I can do custom orders, they will just be a bit pricey because of the time it takes to make one.

Right now my commission price is $50. Pricey, of course, but these take a lot of time to make.

I'm fine with half up front and half at finish. What symbols do you want? I'm assuming you want one large enough to accommodate sleeved cards? Do you want a plastic case on the inside? The latter part might be harder. I'm not sure where I can find one that will work besides buying a cheap plastic deckbox and cutting off the top. I'll send you a note with my paypal addy when I'm ready to start working.
